ok guys...kinda new to the whole racing scene...well, not really...rather, kinda new to the "hey!-i-actually-want-to-know-what-i'm-doing-instead-of-tossing-a-300-horse-motor-into-my-camaro-and-doing-nothing-else-and-nearly-killing-myself-driving-it-everyday club...Actually becoming a non-ignorant person....so, anyways...plan on pushing around 450 horse or so, outta a chevy small block...would like to know what kind of chassis reinforcements are gonna be needed, to keep me from twisting the body in half. Going to do framerails and floorpans...probably a cage...anything else? Oh yeah, anything that would be required, recommended, and how to go about doing it, would help, in regards to ANYTHING! That includes brakes, suspension and whatnot....Thanks!

The first thing would be to build some frame connectors and weld them from the front frame to the rear frame. A roll bar, 8pt or more will help keep things strong. Also some strut bars front and rear would help too. This is just a start, but are some of the main things to tackle first.

I have pictures, and a drawing of subframe connectors I built and installed on my site under "Structural Mods".

I agree subframe connectors, and an 8 point cage that ties the connectors, rocker boxes, top of the rear strut tower and door bars is a good way to go. I just went without the door bars for practicality - plus I don't have 450 hp (wimper).
