HeatRaveR
Why would you need a VIN # for that?
Twentyfourouncer
Why would you need a VIN # for that? Lots of Nissan dealerships are unable or don't know how to find parts for you without a VIN number. I went in looking for a genuine nissan thermostat and they would not sell me one without me providing a VIN for what car it was going into. So I provide the VIN and what do they give me? That's right, a thermostat that is made to fit ALL L6 engines and a few other models to boot! Riverz - you MAY need a VIN from a Euro ZX Turbo for them to be able to help you. veritech-z
That's not uncommon, I work in a dealership parts department, and have dealt with many different dealers over the years that won't even talk to you without a vin number. Mini dealers are one of them. I couldn't even get a price on center caps for wheels (they just happen to fit my momo quasars, go figure) without a vin. Turbo Meister
When I was in Germany visiting my father a couple of years ago, I backed my rental car into a parking garage cement pillar. Fortunately, only the tailight lens was broken. Rather than paying triple to the rental company, I ordered a lens from a dealer. He refused to provide it until I supplied the vin & license # of the vehicle. When questioned, he stated the vin is the primary identifier of the vehicle and by law he must also report all vehicle info to the police when supplying parts to buyers. They probably don't have much of a hit & run problem anymore because of this. Hanns
