Guest mikedick6969
I just Moved the cog on my afm to lean it out a bit. I marked in Pencil like a dumbass. It wore off. Now hte car runs like its on 3 cylinders. Quite horrible the popping and such. Im afraid to drive it, as I dont wanna damage the engine. Is there a way I can re-calibrate the AFM?? Thanks. cygnusx1
Use beer it works better. After you can drink it. Seriously, that should get you in the ballpark providing that his specs are true. It really doesnt take much to turn it as the car is running to get it to idle well. Once it idles well, you are pretty much done. good luck. Guest mikedick6969
It idles nicely as is. When I take my foot off the gas, it runs smoothly. When I hit the gas, not so smooth. Ill look into it after work tonight. It doesnt like to go over 5000 rpm though. It went to 7000+ before I attempted my bonehead move lol! ezzzzzzz
Did you accidentally create an air leak between the AFM and intake? False air could cause problems like this.
Guest mikedick6969
Nope. Ive checked and double checked this. Ive read quite a few articles on the subject, so I knew to look. Thanks for making sure though.
Guest mikedick6969
Turns out not to be the AFM. I just picked up one from a 280ZX non turbo, and still the same symtom. Im goin through sensors, vaccum and the like. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
