Woohoo! Sent the rear suspenion off too the machine shop today, to get the old bushings pressed out. The only torch we have is horrible, not very hot, and i really don't want to have to cut out the sleeves...Anyways, step one of my plan is now almost done...brakes are next...then I can start building a small block...

If you're upgrading to urethane you won't have to use the old sleeves. A sawzall blade slipped in there cuts the sleeves easily icon_smile.gif

Whatcha' going to do for brakes? Going 5 lug or what? Found a motor or are you going to go from scratch? The fun is just beginning, trust me icon_smile.gif Keep us posted!

Yeah I know, I was smart this time and ordered the Z-therapy Video first, had my machine shop press out the old sleeves for me, I really don't have the time to cut them out myself, and no Sawzall either icon_sad.gif Got everything back from the machine shop, just have to bolt it all back up now. Thinking about going 5 lug, probably going to do the Outlaw setup, mainly because I'm shooting for around 450 horse, at the flywheel. Going fast is no fun if ya can't stop...

Hate to say it guys, but there is another place in the suspension where you need to reuse the original casing...that would be the tranny crossmember...DOH! icon_eek.gif Anyone in the Phoenix area have a spare crossmember? Or can i somehow make these now-too-small bushings work?

I stupidly removed my mustache bushing sleeves. I replaced them with some exhaust tubing that was slightly larger. I sliced a section out and hammered it in there. Turned out pretty well.

The bushings in both of these apps, mustache and trans member, are not rotating or anything, so you pretty much just need to make the bushing tight in there.
