fl327
it depends on budget, people here dont seem to like the toyota swap,i love the toyota swap and am going to start it up in the next month or so, they are big and they are heavy, but ive owned two toyota trucks and love the brake response and torque those things have, and could not see anything but good putting them on a lighter car with better pads and steel lines.... you could go with the outlaws, they work really good and weigh like four ounces a side, personally im toyota all the way with stock drums in the back, im gonna upgrade the rear shoes with some better linings, run a slotted rotor up front with brute stop pads, im not going to see much autocross use from these, and i dont think i will be able to see much difference from the more expensive set on the street, on the track is a different story entirely....... Guest BadKarmaCreepin
i was talking about the difference in the toyota kit sold through hybridZ, or finding the toyota parts on my own. either way, i want those huge-ass 4x4 calipers up front. yes this car is gonna go fast, but i want it to stop even faster. i think the kit sold here was $400(?) not sure what would be easier and cheaper. thanks also, how are the coilovers that are sold through hybridZ? for 4 bills, i am considering going with those, unless someone has some serious objections. Guest BadKarmaCreepin
oh you have no idea, my civic was gonna be the fastest car ever!!! until i realized it was a piece of @#$%!!! so i went to honda rehab, and now i have the mother of all cars parked out front. LOL! so i take in my stock calipers, come out with toyota ones and less $150, and i'm good to go? i know there was a link to a page somewhere that detailed how to do this. BLKMGK
The $950 is for BILLET calipers and rotors that are 12X1.25 inches. That setup is quite a bit lighter and nicer than the Toyota setup! It's what I've got front and rear on my car from Mike. It's also not a requirement for good brakes, Mike has reasonable prices on the Toy setup too but boy is it heavier. Two ways to do this BTW - vented rotors or using the stock 240 rotors. I'd go vented if this will be a V8 Z. Hrm, I also don't much approve of slipping one by on the parts counter guys. Sure, you can sucker them but why not just be honest about it?
Guest digitalz
mike has good prices and he has figured everything out for you. get the stuff and install. get the billet stuff much lighter. i'm going to go that route when??? i get there. hehe! kent
