Twentyfourouncer
Hi there, My first message to the forum, and since this was a topic that I have gone through some pains with I thought I would share. I have looked through many a picknpull for these brackets and haven't found a one. I have however found that there are both welded on AND bolted on brackets that will NOT work. I finally got mine from nissanautoparts.com for about $40 a piece brand new. It took them a while at first, but if you tell them that you own a Maxima and you can't drive it because you need this part, they will put through a special order called a VOR (vehicle off road) which is the highest priority and you will usually get any part within 1-2 days. Somehow they find these parts that even Japan doesn't have. Just my 2¢.
BLKMGK
Mike, are you sure there are cars on the road who's REAR disks are larger in the back than the front? That's insane...
Scottie-GNZ
Hey BLKMGK, I resemble that remark as my car will soon have larger rear brakes.

That's insane... quite common for rr diameters to be larger...Z31's and others... I'll have to get my 13" pics up this wknd of Z & ZX to allow some to correct this excessive rear balance , I'm kinda bumbed that many of you already have and more soon will have better rear brakes than my old/small OE ZX brakes another project to look fwd too....plan is 11 or 12" vented out back calipers and rotors on hand/but no bracket yet with the CNC project occupying some time. (I can't justify the vented .8's out back but need to fill out that wheel ID like the fronts do)
GrayZee
After reading this post I couldn't resist, I went out and had a looksy under my (84) Maxima and I seemed to have found a hen's tooth! (a bolt on caliper bracket) So it seems that some magical year yet to be determined, would seem to be... yet to be determined! It could also have something to do with the fact that my car is a Canadian model though?? I specifically bought a 84 because it is the last year of the L24 engine yet the only one with a 4spd automatic with O/D Anyway, back to the brake stuff, how much can the early Z brakes really be improved apon? I've heard comments in the past about how the "brakes in a Zcar suck" but I have stock brakes and I can easily send my passenger through the windshield if they aren't ready for it! I am all for having more stopping power though, just wondering how much there is to be gained.
