RPMS
I'm sure this information is out there already, but I can't seem to find it. I'm keeping my stock 4-lug setup for a while, but I want to upgrade to 4-pot front brakes in the near future. Can someone tell me which 4-lug Z wheels are also 15 inches in diameter? I know the 'swastika' ZX turbo wheels are, but were there any others? Thanks,
Guest scca
only turbo ZX from 81-83 81 are snowflake and later are swastika i believe all 83 are 15"
RPMS
Thanks for the info, Mike. Are you saying that all 280ZX wheels in 1983 were 15"? If so, which style did they appear in? I'm particularly interested in the 'iron cross' wheels (like in this picture) but I don't remember how large they were... Will any of the other factory wheels fit the Toyota brake conversion? Thanks! Modern Motorsports Ltd
Those pictured are a fairly common 280ZX 14x6 mag. Those can be detailed many different ways and look VERY good. (ie. can look like a very good 4 spoke with the rest 'blacked out' and the inner 4 spokes brightened up). As Mike says, some turbos have 15's in snowflake and possibly one other style. Guest scca
i thought the "iron cross " or more commonly know as swastika or ... as the turbo wheel.. those ones you pictured are only 14" AFAIK....
Drax240z
To clarify. 81-82 turbos had 15" snowflake wheels. 83 turbos had 15" swastica wheels. All the rest, Z or ZX before 84 had 14" wheels. This includes iron crosses as pictured, 6 spokes, etc. BTW I've run toyota 4 piston calipers (non-vented rotor) under 14" wheels in the past without a problem. It depends on exactly what 14" wheel you use, I believe.

RPMS
Thanks for the info, guys. I guess when it's time to upgrade to the bigger brake calipers, after putting on the brake hardware I'll see if my existing 14 inch mesh wheels fit. If they don't, I'll search out some 15's. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Guest Anonymous
The iron cross wheels are 14", the wheels in your pic are not swastica turbo wheels, and both sets of turbo wheels will fit the big brake conversion. I recently put a set of 84-85 300zx wheels on my 280z, they fit fine with a set of mr.gasket 1/4" spacers (pn# 2375, $14.50 at summit racing), and for the budget swap, they were a deal at $12.99 a wheel at sacremento pic-n-pull. I think they look way better than the iron cross, but not a good as the turbo wheels. Try zxman.com for used turbo wheels.
