Found a 240z...

Alright, I found this 240z that is within two and a half hours of me. The car has a small amount of rust (for being in NC) and the guy wants 2k obo for it. It doesnt run because of "no battery and a valve problem." My question is what will it cost me to get the thing in running condition or swap in an l28et? (theres one in a junkyard for $400) Also, what do yall think I should offer him? Heres the information he gave:

How long ago? Some of that stuff looks pretty old.

 

My guess, for your location it might be worth that price. In AZ, for a car that doesn't run I'd be looking at $500.

 

You can't charge extra for speed parts if they aren't working.

hey, this is the owner of the z posted there. like matt said its 1200 now and if u want to come look at the car (in wilmington now) and bring a batt we can try to figure out what the problem was with the motor in there now. what part of NC are you from stoggs? hit me on my cell 7046996152, or email me.

I wish mine were in that condition. For $2000, I would of said to pass it up (because of it not running and valve problem). For $1200, I say go for it. About $200 to replace the head (inless you want to rebuild that one) and electrical just takes time to find the problem.
