LT280z
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119921 link above is from the fuel delivery board.... Ok heres my latest problem in trying to diagnose the 280s intermitent behavior The car will crank up and run fine for a few minutes..then it go's lean and stumbles for a second and dies and if it restarts it will do the same thing all over again. IF IT RESTARTS earlier i checked the injectors and im not getting a prime pulse or any pulse for that matter @ the actual injector, so that led me to beleive that my ecu was to blame so i removed it from the 280 and tested it in my 260 and it started the car and ran fine. the prime LED is lighting up but the injector isnt firing. i cant figure out why the injectors would fire sometimes and not all the time. When it starts the injectors are getting power and opening but when it doesnt start im not getting any signal @ the injector ? At this point im not sure what to do so any input would be appreciated. Matt Cramer
What sort of signal is it they're missing? Are they not getting 12 volt power, or are they not getting a ground?
Administrators BRAAP Posted March 14, 2007 Administrators Share Posted March 14, 2007 Boy oh boy… I was hoping in your first thread that we were on the right track, but now, I am really at a loss. Darn it. I wish I had some REAL advice, even if it just allowed you to test something else that was already working just fine… Ok… Based on what you have provided thus far, it seems like it should be something fairly easy to remedy, such as a poor "ground" signal or poor “power†signal. The only thing that changed was that you did some mechanical work, right? That means that you had to disconnect some electrical goodies and reconnect those electrical goodies. That is where I’d start. Things to make absolutely sure of with MS is a GOOD CLEAN positive 12V power source for the injectors AND the ECU, as well as a good positive ground signal, (this is JUST as important as the +12v.) If it works on another car, but not this one, then it has to be in the wiring, or maybe the alternator? Please let us know if you find the issue and if not, keep posting what you have tested and have not tested, to the best of your knowledge…
LT280z
PROBLEM SOLVED....WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO When i was doing the final clean up of the wiring i put too much tension on the power wire to the injector relays and it had a loose connection. It was very strange because when i would get the initial injector prime pulse it wasnt firing the injectors...it was firing the coil...Weird huh this whole problem has taught me a very big lesson.....Dont overlook the little stuff, be very neat in your wiring, check all connections before assuming anything.....Who would of thought that would of been the problem.... Braap thanks for all you help and pm's
