MaTTSuN Posted March 21, 2007 Share Posted March 21, 2007 There are 2 wires for Water temp. one is yellow the other is white i have a 81 turbo harness and motor and these are the last things i have to figure out. Does the yellow or white wire go to the water sensor? and does the water sensor help with the fuel injection? some say no some say yes i think it might i just want to know if its the yellow or white i dont really fal like cutting my whole harnes open, i dont see any white wires on the ECU so it must be the yellow right? matt Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Does this yellow wire have a female bullet connector on the end? If so, that is the water temp wire for the gauge in the dash, not the EFI. Do either or both of those wires have numbers printed on them? If so, those numbers will printed at approx 6â€-12 “ intervals down the length of the wire. Those numbers will correspond to the pin numbers in the wiring diagram. Not sure if any of that helps, but I gave it shot any how.. Good luck.. ktm Posted March 22, 2007 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Based on an 82 FSM, the yellow wire connects to the 'thermal transmitter' or water temperature guage. The problem is that there are a few coolant temperature sensors on these cars and you are only talking about one. All of the other coolant sensors have plug connections or two wires. MaTTSuN Posted March 23, 2007 Author Share Posted March 23, 2007 well from the sounds of it i dont need either i have an autometer water temp so i guess the long and short of it is i dont need the water temp sensors... is this right? there isnt any othere clips or wires for water temp for the ECU so does the ECU use any water temp sensors????? its sounding like no and maybe it was my O2 not working that was making it run rich maybe my air temp sensor in my AFM i think ill chang that 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
