Sending unit voltages - oil and temperature

Hi,

Does anyone know the typical voltages the sending units supply to the gauges? I want to bench test my new autometer gauges without frying them.

Thanks,

David O.

Would they have roughly the same resistance range of the fuel senders, 10-150ohms, or something different?

Is it too much trouble to bench test these or should I just wire it up to a buddy's working 240z with some test clips?

Thanks,

DJO

All my autometer guages came with sending units, I just installed those.

Why do you need to bench test them? are you just making sure the guage works? or are you trying to calibrate it? is there a way to check the cal? (I do some guage cal at work)

Well I'll be dipped in synthetic! A quick trip to the garage confirms that my gauges come with sending units as well. Apparently I hadn't bothered to open oil and temp gauge packages. At least I was thinking ahead!

I did just want to test them before getting it all put together and dropped in.

Thanks!
