Guest Diz21
Great site fellas.Ive got a few questions i was hoping you guys could help me out with.I got a 78 280z.I want to put chevy 350 crate motor in with about 320 hp and hook it up to a manual tranny. Not sure which one any suggestions? My first question is about the suspension.I doubt the stock suspension is a wise choice.Any suggestions for basic suspension upgrades i should make to my z to make it suitable for 320hp?I work for a carparts store would something like kyb shocks/struts and such be a wise/safe pick or do i need something better? Also brakes. What kind of basic brake system for my setup?Another question is the driveshaft. What exactly do i need for this v8z?My 78z has the r200 ive read on here that some guys use it.Is it suitable for 320hp?What kinds of things/parts would i have to get and do to the r200?I plan on having the suspension done first then the brakes then the r200.Then i will have the motor/tranny put in last.Is that a good path to go about this?Im hoping i can get alot the stuff i need through my work.Any help would be great fellas. Thanks alot in advance. lbhsbZ
Welcome to HybridZ. There is TONS of information here, and a Search button at the top of the page. For the Suspension, there are a lot of options...see the Suspension FAQ For the Brakes, see the brake FAQ For the rear diff, see the diff FAQ The first thing you should do is read through all of the FAQs, because every question that you've asked is answered there. If you can't find the answer in the FAQ, then try the search....almost every question about our cars has been answered, and the information is out there. Congrats on your new project.
