Guest jwelch
I just found out the differential pressure switch is bad on my 77. It is a dealer only item and retails for $385 and is a special order from Nissan. Is this part rebuild-able? That is some series $$$. I going to the bone yard for now. Also I upgraded to the 2+2 booster and MC and wondering if that is what killed it, leaks from the top. Will it be OK to replace it with a 2+2 unit if I can find one? Any help is appreciated. blueovalz
Does the differential switch have any function other than just a warning indicator that you may have severe problems with the brake system?
jeromio
What? $400!!! That is BS. Those are fairly universal. You should be able to get one from a salvage yard from most any metric car - doesn't have to be from an old, rare-ish Z. They do serve a valuble purpose beyond merely a warning light. If one circuit fails (ie front or rear), the lack of pressure in that side will cause the switch to close that side off, and in the process, trip the warning light. Guest jwelch
I found a differential pressure switch in the bone yard for $10, beats $385. I have it installed but haven't tried to bleed the brakes yet. Waiting for my rear disk conversion parts from scca I had the while I'm at it syndrome. I called every Nissan dealer in the Valley to get a new switch and they all quoted $385-$400 directly from Nissan. I can't believe I'm going to have rear disk and a pressure switch for slightyly more than Nissan's new part Regards,
Guest jwelch
Hey eveyone my apologizes on the brake kit source. I bought the setup from Ross C at Moder Motorsports LTD.
