Guest KraZ
My car has always idled high, like 1500-1750 rpm, so I was going to replace vacuum hoses and see if that helps, but now I'll be sitting in neutral, and the revs will slowly creep up to 2500, then drop back down. It does this repeatedly until I start driving again. Otherwise, the car runs great. It started doing this right after I advanced the timing about 4 degrees. Any thoughts? Thanks! naviathan
Vacuum leak and possibly the BCDD (Boost Controlled Deceleration Device). Search it, there's a lot of info out there on it. Oh and also check the O2 sensor. There's a green LED on the bottom of the ECU. When the car is warmed up it should flash as it reads the O2 sensor at idle and cruising. At WOT it should go out. If it's solid you need to replace the O2.
wheelman
I don't think it's necessarily valid to assume he's running an EFI car. So what is your car, year, model, tranny type and mods? Wheelman
Guest KraZ
It's a 1980, efi, N/A car. Where is the ecu so I can see the LED? Thanks for the help!
