G.I.jonas
I have a 78 280z ive been working on for years now, more so lately.Doing a vg30dett swap into the car.My engine is very nice with 40,000 miles on it and i want it to be good by the time i get to start up.So what im wondering is...i had an idea to fill the engine with oil, hook up a battery to the starter and manually close the circuit for 10-15 seconds at a time in attemp to get oil flowing and get everything "wet" again. The engine has been sitting for a couple of years now and turns fine by hand, also in looking through the oil filler all i see is a mirror shiny cam lobe ( i would like it to stay this way until im done as i dont know how long till im done).Plus the weather up hear in maine is a little weird, hot and wet one day, cold and dry the next, followed by blizzards and floods lol.Does this sound like a good idea or should i just spray lube in the cylinders and call it a day?
