mobythevan
You would think I would know this by now, but I don't. It says starting in 87 the 305 and 350 got the roller cam and also center bolt valve covers. So is it safe to assume that all TPI engine with center bolt valve covers have the roller cam? I searched around to see if anyone made that claim but didn't find it.
fastzcars
My motor is a 87 crate motor and even though it had a flat tappet cam in it, the bosses for the hydrolic roller tappet spider where cast in the block. So I would say " yes " the block's are HR ready.
Bilster
TPI began in 1985 for both F-cars and Corvettes but roller cam did not begin until 1986. The 1985 TPI cars were the only non-roller cam, two piece main seal motors. 1986 began the roller cam, one piece main seal motors.
