383 240z
I decided to MS-II my Jeep. I got 99% of the wiring in and buttoned up real nice. Last night the wife asked me how it was going. I turned the key over and after about 45 sec of cranking it fired and idled pretty good. She was impressed, I was happy all was good with the world!! I tried to start it today to work on the tuning, and nothing, so I hook it up to the laptop, and I'm seeing 0 RPM on MegaTune. I dont move ANY wiring pull the dizzy from the block and spin it with my fingertips, and it reads a good signal, the coil gets power, the fuel pump kicks in, I put it back in the block, No RPM. I thought some thing inside might be grounded, I pull the cap and rotor, no such luck. I did convert the dizzy to a 7 pin HEI. It is allmost like the starter cant spin it fast enough, I have the batt. FULLY charged and I cant believe that my two fingers are spinning it that much faster than the starter is. This is starting to drive me nuts, I'm about this far from getting a EDIS 6 set up for this thing!!. Keith
383 240z
ok I have some new/relevent info to add. When the dizzy is in the block, I do get some RPM on the MT. the highest I saw was 175RPM is there a way to lower the threshold as to when power is sent to the pump/coil. or do I need to make the starter spin faster? trwebb26
There is a setting for craking RPM under the "crank/warmup" heading (more cranking stuff).
