JTR book

Recommended Posts

I just ordered this book from summit racing. Wow, pricy! Almost $70 canadian to get it to me, it better be good. The thing is I am leaning more along the lines of doing a Ford 302 swap than a chev 350... If I could find a 327 I'd jump on it, they are pretty hard to find though.

Anyway, how do you guys feel about the JTR book? Is it really that good to justify that much dough? I wish I could look through it before buying it...

Idea's are all I need for the Ford really. I'm pretty confident that I can do what needs to be done to do it, the question is whether I can afford the extra machining/parts/etc that it might take.

Unfortunately I don't think I could afford shipping on an engine. I tried to get an exhaust shipped to me from chicago and it was going to be almost $200US!! I'd probably pay more for shipping than I would for the engine. :P

By the book its a good investment - what is your time worth. Perhaps a member who has completed a conversion could sell you theirs. Discounted a bit because of some grease. But is anyone ever done with a conversion! Here is a Ford link that I have found to be very helpful with lots of ideas when doing

a conversion and a very nice guy if you have

questions.

Since I've allready payed for it and ordered it, I'll just take that one. Maybe I should have asked around for an used copy, but generally I've found people don't sell that type of book...

I've seen that link before, and its a good one! Thanks anyway.

firstly my username/signin is not as per above, mine is mixed up with someone elses and I'm working on getting it corrected..

Drax, I see you're in Vancouver. I'm in S. Vancouver and just pulled a '68 327 in fine shape out of my 280ZX for it's '98 full roller 350 going in. Haven't advertised it forsale yet but its available and lots of extras, Z28 windage tray and pan, should be a forged crank (never confirmed it yet) etc.

I'm at 280zx@home.com

OK, emailed you about that. smile.gif Nice to meet more Vancouver people. I know a guy in Surrey you might know, Dan Giroux, ex Nissan tech guy... Pretty good guy to see for factory Nissan parts at better than factory Nissan prices! He's building a 240z with a Z32TT Engine...

I'd like to see your car sometime. Maybe we can get together and shoot the breeZZZZZe a little sometime. smile.gif

ahh, got the userid straightened out, thanks Dan!

Yes I know Danny, good guy. Yes he's been building that car for a little while/years now;^) Don't every pay full price at any dealer for any parts, any contacts on that front are great.

Just saw my car yesterday and the bodywork repair is coming along v. well (over 50% done) so hopefully I'll be stuffing this roller 350 mild 400hp setup in their shortly.
