EMWHYR0HEN
This Is non Z related, But I have this little "Harley" like motorcyle with a lawn mower engine. I just replaced the cable- disk brakes with a hydraulic 2 piston caliper and hand lever with master cylinder that came from a sportbike. I bled the system and it worked great. However, after braking the pressure won't release from the caliper and wont let go of the rotor. Even without squeezing the brake lever I can crack open the bleed screw and fluid will squirt out then the caliper will release the rotor. I got the parts from a motorcycle salvage yard so I have some suspicion that the master or caliper is bad. Ive never heard or seen anything like this. Can someone give me some pointers? johnc
Most likely the brake lever cable needs adjusting to allow the master cylinder to retract all the way. Pressure is released in hybraulic brake systems only when the master cylinder pistons retract completely.
EMWHYR0HEN
Thanks John. I twisted the little cylinder that the hand lever pushes counterclockwise and it released the pressure.
