flatbackz
I've got a 77 280z with a n42 block, n47 head, and a spare e88 head. the n47 is said to be cracked but i havent varified that yet. what problems would i run into puttin the e88 on the n42 block? the car is FI so i geuss id have to drill or bore the intake ports on the head for the injectors? would the E88 cam be good fer the n42 block? would this head swap be worth the trouble at all? need some help here. naviathan
My 77 had an E88 on it when I bought it. Damn that was a nice pulling engine. It's soon to pull even better though. Yes the E88 would be good on the N42 block so long as you take the proper precautions for the EFI. I would also see about having the valve seats replaced with steal and the valve stem seals replaced. Then it would be great...
Shift
You don't need to drill injector holes. just use the n47 intake manifold and you need to replace the mechanical fuel pump with a electric on and put a block off plate on there.
