alright guys, I finally got my 280Z with a 350 chevy in there...But the problem was, I had no brake pressure. So I bled the front disc brakes and finally got pressure back. So I take her on the road and drive down the street a lil bit...Stopping is kinda mushy but that is understandable considering I just put new disc pads in. But in about 5 mins I here a clank sound and rear brakes are no longer functional. I can only stop barely using the front Disc. So I get out and look at my tires and the driver side rear tire has brake fluid running down the calipers and all. But it is only the Driver Side...Now here is hte question...What happened? Could it just be a broken brake line or did somethin just come loose? Thanks guys

Most likely, your shoes were not adjusted properly. This has caused your wheel cylynder to over expand. this is also most likely the cause of the mushy pedal. You were relying solely on the front brakes, and the rears were making minimal contact. you will need to replace the shoes on the side that is leaking since the saturation from brake fluid will cause them to expand and deteriorate, and possibly the wheel cylinder too.It depends on whether the cup in the cylinder has been damaged at all. Be sure to properly clean everything with brake parts cleaner, and make sure that there is at least minimal drag between your shoes and the drum ;)

Yeah I agree, things got sloppy somehow in there, and the wheel cylinders finally said ok enough, I'm at the end of my bore, or the clank was a failure in the brake backing pin or brake spring, it happens from time to time, and it can shift the shoes one way or the other enough to knock them out of they're bore. Just a couple scary scenarios, hopefully its prettier than that in there. :D

Could be your rear caliper is shot. You can buy a new one or rebuild them. The kits cheap and do both while your at it. I rebuilt mine as nobody local had new ones. Took a couple of hours for both.
