Challenger Posted June 16, 2007 Share Posted June 16, 2007 I tried searching for "6 into 2 Header" but it would only search for "headers" and I didnt want to search half the forum. From what I know the 6 into 2 will create a unique sound. But what does it do for "performance" is it better to like a dual exhaust v8 have a x or h pipe? Or are you supposed to just let both pipe go seperate? I wont be adressing my exhaust till my car is painted and finished but I thought Id do some research for when I come to that hurdle. OlderThanMe Posted June 16, 2007 Share Posted June 16, 2007 I have a 6-2-1 header on my L26 with a 2.5" pipe and a hollowed out(fiberglass gone) turbo muffler. Definitely loud and you will get noticed. I think the different length tubes makes it sound different. I think the longest tube is 27-28"IIRC and the shortest was close to 20-21". katman Posted June 16, 2007 Share Posted June 16, 2007 What engine mods? On an L28 I can't think of a good reason to run duals. What header is best depends on what your mods are and what you intend to do with the car. If you just want the sound of a header than by all means by the cheapest thing.
