jl87ma Posted June 19, 2007 Share Posted June 19, 2007 my car makes a loud tapping noise when i drive long distances an hour and up time wise. The noise settles down when the car idles for a bit like 1 min or so. The funny thing is that it also does it when its cold same sound. Also is it ok for a motor to be really hot, including radiator, and radiator hoses. The car has hydraulic lifters and some say that this is causing the problem others tell me its an issue with the oil getting to hot Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
