Jojoz
Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I intend to turn my l28 into a 3.1 turbo stroker. I have had trouble locating anyone who 'specialises' or has a lot of experience will the L series in Australia. If I go to a reputable performance shop, should they have the knowhow to do a comparable job or am I best to keep looking. Just concerned I may end up with a useless head or something. I'm not hugely knowledgable on the machining mods and am a believer in leaving that stuff the experts and after reading this site, a lot, I see it is easy to incurr negative performance if you don't understand it fully. Thanks
gogriz91
If you don't have any luck here try classiczcars.com Lots of Aussies frequent that site.

Dragonfly
In my opinion with the exception of the head the work could be done by any reputable machine shop. All of the machining work i.e. boring, honing, bearing clearances etc. are esentualy the same job from one engine to another and any shop with good equipment and knowlegeable employees will be quite adequate. The head on the other hand requires someone with difinitive experiance especialy since it is done by hand from one chamber to the next. With that IMHO you should probably put the bulk of your money into sending the head to a place such as Sunbelt or Hybridz's own BRAAP. Good luck Dragonfly
Jojoz
As I suspected, thanks for the information. I'll keep looking closer to home first, but yeah, I want a bloody good job done on this head, so I'm not going to risk it with someone unsure. Having one done in the states and sent over is not out of the question if it comes to that. Thanks again, much appreciated.
