roger.svoboda
My n/a 83 had a wheel bearing seize and machined the rear axle down about 1/32 of an inch before it got bad enough to notice. Never heard a squeal or anything til the wheel started thumping and I hear that. Anyway the question is??? I've got an 83 turbo parts car does anyone know for a certainty if the rear axle is the same. Just the rear axle I know that the cv joint vs u joint adapter plate are different but are splines the same to mate them to the rear axle. Thanks for any knowledte you have. roninjiro
turbo axles are different than the n/a cars. turbo axles have cv joints and n/a have u-joints which are not interchangeable unless you change out the outputflanges on the diff. and yes the splines are the same from when i did mine a while back
VinhZXT
Please read his question careful before reply. The axles are the same for both models. I just installed the stub axle from a turbo car into my 79 ZX. The splines are the same. The big nut on the N/A axle is pinched onto the end of the axle. Just use a flat head screw driver to pry the 2 tabs out slowly and you should be able to get the nut off. Good luck.
