dat240zg
My wife and I have tossed around the idea of moving up to the NW (she's originally from Vancouver) and really like the Bellingham area. Housing looks pretty steep, but we've found a few homes in Sudden Valley that don't seem to bad. Is that some kind of retirement community or something? Any reason not to look there? Are there any other places that you guys would recommend looking within the city? Thanks for the help. Bryan Dat240zg
Globerunner513
hey, i've been living here for the past 10 years or so and can say that if you're thinking of moving here, there is just waaay too much around to pass up. From where i am i have a 10 min drive to the harbor/marina, 1 1/2 hour drive to one of the best ski areas in the US, TONS of great driving roads if you know where to look, and so much more to name off. as for the sudden valley area, i say DO IT!. its not a retirement community or anything like what you're thinking of. Basically its a residential expansion of bellingham. It is a housing community, with central mailboxes, community golf course, lake access/boat launch, and some other perks, but they're all perfectly normal houses some of them are really nice in fact...really great area. its about a 5-10 min drive into the heart of bellingham depending on where in Sudden Valley you are. you should Google Earth the area to get a better look at the topography. anyway i can't think of much more but if you have any questions me, or JoeZ (another member that i know of in bellingham) could answer most of them. good luck!
