California at it again (A.B. 616)

Every year the state of California tries to get our cars off the road and they are at it again with the proposed legislation A.B. 616. I personaly have already written to each California senator and I hope that all of the rest of you Californians do as well. Here is the letter that I wrote, if anyone would like to copy it you are more than welcome just be sure to change the name and or club affiliation.

A.B. 616? Why am I writing yet another letter asking that yet another proposed legislation be removed? I realize that the owners of classic vehicles do not carry the same clout as large businesses, but we do carry many more votes. As I recall it has been shown over and over in the past that classic automobiles make up a small portion of vehicles on the road and an even smaller portion of the over all contribution to air pollution. As it has been shown the majority of classic vehicle owners keep these vehicles very well maintained and they are driven very rarely, so I have to ask why are certain members of our elected officials spending so much time listening to large business reps and writing unnecessary legislation like A.B. 616 rather than researching who the true polluters are and writing legislation to make a real difference? My personal vehicle for daily transportation is a PZEV and most of the other people I know who own vehicles that will be affected by A.B. 616 also have PZEV or hybrid vehicles as their primary transportation.

Please do your part as one of my elected officials in stopping A.B. 616.

Respectfully
