Ok not really a z project but I thought I would get some feedback. I have been thinking about something for autocross/solo events and a little road use. Something VERY light and easy to work on. In a relativly modest budget. Any way after a LOT of research I think I am going to convert a formula ford to a full body car. You can pick up formula fords that are not the very latest for a good price if you dont mind looking around. Then I would do a conversion to some kind of custom body like http://dsr.racer.net/chassis/wynnfurst/page1.htm . Also possibly convert to a better motor to. Any way I know it sounds a little crazy but should be an interesting project.

Oh and body wise thinking more along the lines of something with the Can Am look I like http://www.imca-slotracing.com/CANAM-1967.htm

Oh and this is interesting. A formula ford against a Ford Gt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z5G7Vct_ag

Been doing some more research and found someone that did almost the same thing. http://www.furorecars.co.uk/contactme.php They got a Formula Ford 2000 and converted it to a 2 passanger street car. I personaly do not like a lot of the choices the made but its good to see it will work on the street.

And here is some more information on the same kind project. http://www.xanthos.com/main.html

And another likely starting place http://www.imps4ever.info/specials/d_sports/index.html

Seems there are lots of little D Sports Racing type cars that are about the right size etc.
