n/a f54 and turbo f54

sorry to ask but i've been reading alot of the postings in this forum which is very helpful but i do have questions, is there a difference in the f54 block that came in the nonturbo 280zx and the turbo 280zx, internally or externally? and if you had a non turbo zx motor and swapped the head to a p90 would you have the turbo engine setup? again sorry for asking i may have missed this point somewhere else in the forum.

hey thanks. that was the specifics that i wanted to know. so i guess if you take the n/a block and put dished pistons in with a p90 head it wouldn't be quite the same as the turbo engine right?

 

Quite a few folks have turbo'd NA blocks that I can tell from reading around here. Just less boost.

 

I think the big difference is just the Pistons and rings. You can always buy a turbo oil pan or make your own. And also drill and tap the hole for the sensor in the block.
