the.goodhumorman
I have heard horror stories for quite some time about them leaking and spurting fuel into your oil. It has finally happened to me. The diapraghm on my mech fuel pump has decided to give out and now I am getting horrible gas mileage. I checked the oil and it just suddenly got really dark and it smells like fuel very bad and my oil pressure is going way up. I want to get rid of my fuel pump altogether. I am aware that I am going to need a block off of some sort where that fuel pump used to be. What pressure would I need to make sure that the electric fuel pump needs to be to make sure that I get all of the needed fuel? m4xwellmurd3r
I think about 4-5psi, but i'm not positive. On my dad's race car, i think he runs about 6-8psi. any more and the fuel would push past the needle and seat in his dellorto's I THINK though. I'm not positive
the.goodhumorman
Thats what I thought. I just wanted to make sure that way I wouldnt have any problems once all of it was done. Thanks ~The Good Humor Man
m4xwellmurd3r
I'm also sure you'll need to buy yourself a pressure regulator though. That way you can get a nice high flow pump, and adjust the fuel pressure to what your car needs. http://www.holley.com/12-802-1.asp I'm pretty sure that's the pump my dad's running in his bug.
