Guest Matt M.
My current project is not a Z car, but I thought this would be a good place to ask: Does anyone know of an alternative to the factory plastic bracket for mounting an LT1 PCM? --Matt
wheelman
I used some metal strap to make a bracket for mine. What car are you swapping the LT1 into? Wheelman
Guest Matt M.
Thanks for the reply. It's a tube frame GT race car, which is probably why I'm finding the original PCM bracket to be hard to use - no flat surfaces to hang it from. I was hoping that with all the LT1 swaps into RX7s, Z cars, 944s, etc that there were some options from the aftermarket. --Matt
Bartman
I would use the stock plastic PCM bracket and fab up something to connect it to. I think the stock bracket works well to keep the PCM secure as well as allowing room for some air movement around it. I bolted the stock bracket to my firewall on my install.
