badjuju
I've got an '81 l28et, which I'm replacing with freshly rebuilt l28 out of a 77. I'm running megasquirt, and triggering off the crank using a hall effect sensor picking up magnets glued into the crank pulley. The 81 used an optical cas, which sucks, but I'm wondering if there is any problem with swapping the crank pully off of one and onto the other, so i don't have to remachine or figure out triggering msns-e with the 77 dizzy? I know that's possible, but i'd rather just drop it in and not rewire anything.
cygnusx1
There are different outside diameters between the turbo and non turbo pulleys but they do fit. You may need to change the belt lengths and possibly relocate the timing marker.
TONY C
I am not sure about your pully idea. sounds simple but probably will not be. I am running MsII and edis. I ordered a 36-1 wheel off ebay. $35. real nice thin very light chrome piece. centered it up on the crank balancer drilled and tapped 3 small holes, 1/4" spacer behind the trigger and bolted it to the balancer. made a bracket for the pick up to bolt up to the a/c bolt holes. some very simple wiring and done. works awesome and makes more room without the distributor. looks cool too. if you are interested pm me and I will send a few pics. also I have most of the edis stuff and plug wires to do it again if you are interested. peace
badjuju
Hmm, I already have everything I need to run EDIS anyhow, I've got the wheel, got the unit, everything. This is all happening next year sometime though, so for now I'm ignoring your responses and concentrating on school. lol, thanks for the responses guys! I'd really like to not have a dizzy, so maybe I'll do that!
