280tyler Posted September 10, 2007 Share Posted September 10, 2007 today i was working on getting my car started i'm running ms1 v3 fuel only code and msd 6al for spark the first thing that tripped me up was i was not getting a tach signal i had the tach wire hooked up to the the output on my 6al i messed with it for a little bit the i decided to re jumper the reversed Zener diode to see if i could get a signal that worked will it hurt any thing to try and run it like that? i hope not after i jumped that i tried to start it and it acts like it wants to start as soon as i press the starter button it fires and then dies it only fires for 1-2 secs. i tried messing with it for a wile i fouled the plugs 1 or 2 times. setting hear thinking about it my thoughts are that i could have put the dizzy shaft 180 out or that diode/jumper could messing with it any info would help thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
naviathan Posted September 12, 2007 Share Posted September 12, 2007 If you're fouling plugs then your problem is with the ignition system. Use a timing light to verify spark.
