palauoriginal
would a stanza (ka24e fwd) tps work with Megasquirt?
mobythevan
Megasquirt uses a potentiometer type TPS, not a switch type. Just measure it with a multimeter. Measure reistance and turn the TPS to see if it is a potentiometer(variable resistor). You can get one of those really cheap multi meters from harbor freight for $1.99 or $3.
palauoriginal
so if its a potentiometer. the resistance should increase correct? thnks guys
mobythevan
It will do both depending on which terminals you measure between. There are 3 terminals on a potentiometer. The outer two will show a resistance that never changes. The middle and one end will show a resistance that increases as you move the TPS. The middle and the other end will show a resistance that decreases as you move the TPS.
palauoriginal
so if there are only 2 wires coming out of the tps its probably not a potentiometer? good info though thanks moby
mobythevan
For anyone else that finds this post later on..... after looking at the pic of the stanza TPS it looks exactly the same as a 240sx TPS to me.
palauoriginal
here's the tps pic moby is talking about. so stanza tb and tps should work
Zmanco
My 240SX TB had both a 2 wire and a 3 wire connection. The 3 wire is the potentiometer and what I used for MS. The 2 wire was a simple switch that was closed when the throttle was either wide open or closed - don't remember which as I didn't use it and removed it. mario_82_ZXT
Wow. I can't believe the cut the connector off. You'll use the 3 wire loom. It's in the sticky on how to wire I believe. It's easy though, one to ground (the black), one to 5v, one to TPS signal. If you're always in flood clear, try switching them.
