Lazeum
I own the car for 3 weeks now, a 72 240z with L28. I had trouble the first ten minutes I own it, just after I was done filling up the gas tank to the top. Gas started to leak real bad, I've seen roughtly 3 gallon of gas going down on the ground at the gas station under the Z Since then, the car smells gas real bad. Pretty common you'll say, I know I looked under the car and the gas was leaking really bad and real fast. So I decided to remove the tank, see what is really wrong and make it leak free for good (I hope ) The tank has been reworked and coated nearly 2 years ago. The hoses, especially the one going to the vapor / reservoir tank are not in really good shape. After the tank down (took me forever to put it down ) I find out that the top connexion to the vapor tank was not connected, source of the first real big leak but it's so high on the tank, I highly doubt I lose 3 gallon because of that. I went down to the return line and outlet line, They are completely loose and this is where I need your advice, how to fix the connexions to seal them? If you look at this pictures, you'll see crack at the base of the connexions. I can rotate them by ±25º. Aren't they suppose to be fix? I'm thinking about grinding all the stuff around and either using JB weld or some epoxy. What do you guys advice??? Should I consider also going to see a specialist? I doesn't seen worth it IMHO.
