Challenger
Anyone thought of using a lathe and piece of thin walled aluminum tubing to form the velocity stacks? I saw on the discovery channel them using a wood tool to stretch a thin walled pipe into a pot. Im guessing you could do the same thing but make a curved edge? sweetleaf
Yes, it's called metal spinning. You could easily make the taper and curved edge.
Challenger
Or make a positive mold on the lathe and just push it into the pipe to stretch it to the desired shape.
Trevor
I saw some bell-shaped sink drain pipe fittings in plumbing at Home Depot. And I thought of velocity stacks..... Bath drains are 1-1/4" dia. (32mm) and Kitchen drains are 1-1/2" (38mm). They were chrome plated and less than $3 each.
