chevy 305 swap

i don't know if this has been asked but i couldn't find it. im puttin in a chevy 305 in my 86 300z and before i get too far i was wanting to know if my 5 speed tranny will match up or do i need to get another one. plus i had just purchased a stage 3 clutch for it...would it match up to the 305 fly wheel or do i need to sell the kit? thanks.

I guess this might be hard to find the answer to, but there's no sense even trying to use that tranny as it will most likely break, even with a relatively weak SB like the 305. The cost of the adapter could be used to get a T-5 from an Camaro/Firebird that would bolt up easily and bolt in with ease.

Thanks bro. got a buddy looking for a tranny for me. now if i can just find someone that can weld up a drive shaft for it i'll be ready to go.

ok update. the 305 is a no go. the guy i was getting it from blew his 350 and now needs the motor. so the v6 is being rebuilt. but since i got the car apart it's gettin a complete make over.
