jojothemonkey
Ok, so i have been researching holset turbos and have found that HE351 is the updated version of the HY35W. Now on the HE351 it has the internal wastegate and a command valve that is part of the wastegate system. In some of the posts that i have been reading someone referenced that they and others have the HE351 but just refer to it as the HY35. Sooo what do you do with the command valve? remove it and weld the hole shut? or just leave it there and cut the wires off or something else? Anyways hope what im asking makes sense. Also here is a pic and description of the HE351 command valve. http://list.priceweber.com/cummins/turbo_oct04/wastegate.html
gearheadstik
I welded the inner hole and plugged the threaded hole with a small freeze plug... If I had it to do over I would just jb weld the inner plug. Works fine.
Thumper
I welded the inner hole and plugged the threaded hole with a small freeze plug... If I had it to do over I would just jb weld the inner plug. Works fine. I also put a brass plug in there and never had a problem. You could just leave it in if it's not in the way, but I like clean.
