Interesting Site for Hybrids

Recommended Posts

I was debating the 914 swap or the Z swap. After considering all the $$$ I was going to spend, I chose the Z. The "kit" is much cheaper (JTR) and the trannys are by and large American and relatively inexpensive to the 911 trannys that I would have ended up using anyway, as well as upgrading the front to 911 specs, etc, etc.

Ours is not a cheap hobby, I know, but all things considered, the Z was a better alternative.

They say that a V8 conversion won't hurt the resale value of a Porsche? Yeah, right. I'm sure they're right that stuffing American iron into a Porsche makes it more reliable, but just because it makes sense doesn't mean it'll be worth more after the conversion.

Take that not as criticism of the concept - it's a great idea, and a wonderful website. I gotta say though, that a 350 looks mighty peculiar sitting in the back end of a 911, though.
