roughridin89
hey i was looking at pictures of other peoples engines and i noticed a lot of people have fuel rails i know a little about them but havent heard if it improves hp or just replaces the old system and looks better. i have a 78 280z so if any1 can give any advice on weather this part will help performance, just make my engine look better, or just a wast of money
nbesheer
It doesn't directly effect HP. it cleans up the system a lot. But a new rail lets you upgrade to different larger injectors. or you can still use stock injectors like what I did. http://www.freewebs.com/pallnet/products.htm You can also get a JSK but I don't know about them. if you get a new rail get the fuel pressure gauge it's helped me already
Administrators BRAAP Posted December 27, 2007 Administrators Share Posted December 27, 2007 hey i was looking at pictures of other peoples engines and i noticed a lot of people have fuel rails i know a little about them but havent heard if it improves hp or just replaces the old system and looks better. i have a 78 280z so if any1 can give any advice on weather this part will help performance, just make my engine look better, or just a wast of money The fuel rail itself adds no performance to the engine. Its job is merely to be a source/reservoir of fuel for the fuel injectors, at the injectors. Sort of like a fuel plenum. On the L-28, we will generally replace the stock loop style fuel rail with a single aluminum fuel rail for aesthetics and ease of maintenance reasons. Side note. Please make some sort of an effort to punctuate your sentences, and use capitalization at the beginning and within your sentences. If you miss one here or there, no biggee but when you post like this in all of your posts, it comes across as lazy.
