Guest xsv_32
Hi. I have a rb30 block all machined up and assenbled with all the bits to make it go nuts but before i go ahead, i need to clear something up... I have an rb25deT head but i keep reading that it requires something done to match the thirty block... and that the de head is easier to use. What exactly is involved when modifying the det head to make it fit and is the cost worse than selling it to buy a de? Thanks. James. Careless
modifying the VCT solenoid oil passage is what is required. It involves welding up an area on the block (or the head, cant recall) or blocking it off completely and running a separate oil feed into the head to allow the VCT to ramp up oil pressure to the cam, since the VCT is activated by means of oil pressure. whether using it or not, a modification has to be made. Do you have Cube's RB30 guide?
