fast drag cars

That makes sense, gr8white, where do you race at? I wont be racing this summer, I will be happy to drive the car and start getting the kinks out. I am just trying to plan ahead and build the car to be legal. Has anyone done any top speed racing? How tight is the tech there? I would imagine it would be much more strict. I have visited the site for the salt flat racing, and found the rules very general. I didn't see any cage certifications.

I race at the Dallas area tracks, mostly 1/8 mile. The Texas Motorplex can really suck at times, especially on street night where everybody comes in and does useless burnouts on street radials and make it as slick as, well you know...

There are also many more 1/8 mile tracks and are generally prepped pretty good. I drive a fox body 5.0 liter GT that handles like a friggin brick, wanting to race top speed in my car is a death wish! No thanks, I don't even like running in the quarter anymore, it's just too dangerous IMO with a fast car.

They probably don't go crazy on tech in the salt flats because if you wipe out you are only going to take your car and yourself out with you!!!...

Based on the description of your Mustang, sounds like Instead of saying "it's just too dangerous IMO with a fast car", you should be saying "it's just too fast IMO with a dangerous car" :D :D

LOL, I guess that statement also is dependent on what you consider "fast"...
