nemo1080
I was wondering if it were plausible to put the 3.8ltr from a Mercury Cougar XR7 Supercharged, into my 280Z. I know I will make my own motor mounts, and use the ford trans, but where would I get the custom driveshaft made??? I would like to keep the Z rear end as the cougar one is huge and much wider than the 280... anyone ever even thought of this? Normally I would keep my L28, but I might pick up this setup for free, and this motor makes like 380 ft lbs of torque and 250 hp stock... on low boost.. comes with intercooler and 3" hardpipes and the works all stock.. Challenger
http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127710 Sound nice. Personally Id only put in a nissan v6 but if the price is right that would be sweet.
Matt K
It doesn't make the kind of numbers you're thinking. 89-93 model supercharged 3.8's made 210 hp/315 lbs torque @ 12lbs factory boost, 94+ model made 230 hp/330 lbs. Not feasible to swap the rear end.
