matthunter1448 Posted March 2, 2008 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Car will start up but will die as soon as it turns over it gets spark and fuel i checked the timing and its dead on. The motor is brand new out of the crate but it doesnt make since why it wont start any help would be nice thanks? Dragonfly Posted March 2, 2008 Share Posted March 2, 2008 A little more info on the car and the engine would be helpful. Any way here is a guess for you and something you can look at. If the car "runs" as you are starting it but dies when you let go of the key you may want to check the wires on your ignition switch to make sure that when the key is in the "run" position that you are getting power through the system. matthunter1448 Posted March 2, 2008 Author Share Posted March 2, 2008 its a 1977 280zx it has a l28e in it with 0 miles on it and it doesnt make since why its doing it i will check that today but it ran before the motor was swapped. Any suggestions let me know thanks. As soon as wee turn the key to on the fuel pump kicks on and stays on and as soon as your turn over it starts up then just dies.
