Guest Anonymous
While at a salvage yard the other day I was snooping around, search, hoping, praying, etc..to find a R200 LSD I ran across a 240SX (non-turbo) that had severe damage to the front end and driver's side. The damage prevented me from being able to see the production date of the car. Anyway, I have made a habit of looking under 240SXs to get a look at the differential. Well this one has a finned aluminum rear cover!! Does this mean it could be a "clutch type" R200 LSD? Or is it just wishful thinking? Thanks guys, Chris
Guest scca
i believe all the 240's are a viscous LSD unit--- no easy way to use it as of now..... not without spending lots to modify pieces to fit anyway.... ------------------ Mike http://www.fonebooth.com raceparts and brakeupgrades
Guest Anonymous
What year 240sx? All s14 240SXs have a z32 style case and viscous assembly, not clutch assembly. They might also be r230, but don't quote me on that. I'm not sure what style s13 has, but I'm pretty sure it's the same as z32 style as well. ------------------ Morgan morgan@z31.com http://carfiche.com http://z31.com
Guest scca
the newer 240 diff looks smaller than the 300 never measured though just by looking. and there are a TON of those diffs around here. anyone tried to make one work? ------------------ Mike http://www.fonebooth.com raceparts and brakeupgrades
Guest Anonymous
They have a z32 style case and viscous internals, lotsa work. That sweet black car with the supercharged LT1 has a z32 diff, doesn't he? r230 and r200 in that style are externally the same and are interchangable. z32 non turbo has 4.08 or something ratio, turbo has 3.something, as do 240SXs. ------------------ Morgan morgan@z31.com http://carfiche.com http://z31.com
blueovalz
Only the the 240SX with the HICA (rear steer mechanism ) will have the viscous LSD. All others are single track diffs. Terry Oxandale
