unofootball43
My daily driver was broken into last week and my aftermarket deck was stolen so I replaced it with a stock one out of a 99 Monte Carlo (I'm a college student and can't afford another aftermarket one). Now on this cd player there is a button for Aux components but there isn't any ports on the back and when I eventually found a diagram of the wiring harness none of the wires were for Aux components either. I heard from someone that I have to get a seperate harness from GM for that will have it but I wanted to make sure with you guys, anybody know for sure? Oh and by the way my z should be ready for paint this summer, Hell yea!
Six_Shooter
You would need an auxilary input adaptor, supplied from aftermarket companies, such as PAC ( www.pac-audio.com ), Soundgate ( www.soundgate.com ) USA-spec ( www.usaspec.com ), Peripheral ( www.peripheralelectronics.com ), PIE ( www.pie.net ) and I'm sure there are a couple others. These companies offer adaptors that will plug into the back of the radios and allow an auxilary or even an iPod connection into the factory radios. The only thing is they are generally not cheap, I don't think I've seen one that works well for less than $125. You could take that same $125 plus a little more and get a nice aftermarket deck that will have better sound quality and a more stable connection to the suxilary/iPod input. Shift
sounds like your better off just buying a new head unit. wouldn't think one with an aux would cost more than $100 inless you want bells and whistles.
