1991 240sx Motor Swap

My buddy out here has a 1991 240sx hatchback and he's sick of his KA24DE thats under the hood. Theres a lot of problems with it and he wants to put a VQ35DE with a 6 speed in it. I have searched the internet and found a couple of sources like engineswaptech.com and vqswap.com and the vqswap.com has a kit they sell for $1,200 for basic swap materials, and then $400+ for a driveshaft, $400 for an AEM wiring harness etc. I know that he wont NEED the AEM Harness if he gets the whole wiring assembly from under the dash etc.

So heres the real question. Should he get a VQ35DE and have 306 NA Horsepower, or buy an SR20DET S14 Black top (back notch) with 205hp? The SR20 will bold right up to basically everything I have heard. Uses the same motor and tranny mounts, driveshaft etc.

Any opinions would be awesome! Thanks for reading.
