kev240z Posted May 9, 2008 Share Posted May 9, 2008 Hi all. I'm looking at putting a Tremec 600 into my 73 Scarab now that my R200 LSD is in & RPMs are way up. Has anyone installed this gearbox with the Scarab setup? Any tunnel clearance or shifter issues? Tremec claims 3 different crossmember positions, what did you have to do? I am figuring a new crossmember &/or crossmember location will be required. I currently have a Super T-10 on a Scarab bellhousing with a Hurst Super Competition Plus shifter that positions the shifter perfectly. I saw one post saying the JTR conversion allowed better shifter location. The Tremecs have 8 different positions for the shifter. It looks to me like I will need the 2" offset to the left option.
