ZXRockie
I found deposit of coolant right above my #2 cylinder intake valves. I've never seen anything like it, but I strongly believe it has to do with the lower intake manifold gaskets. what really causes this problem? because of it the #2 injector keep going bad and the car runs like it wasn't meant to. Please help me to determine the cause of this disaster, can't stand running in 5 cylinders and buying injectors is not fun.
Guest maTTz
Very strange, I wonder how it's getting in there. The upper plenum and lower plenum both have coolant running through them, the lower plenum has it going from head to head I think? (like a bridge). ZXRockie
Well, coolant dosent run through the lower intake, if that helps. sorry to burst your bubble, but it does. the front section ins like a bridge between both heads. I had replace the lower manifold seal, so wish me luck.
Guest maTTz
Good luck. I'm presently match-porting my heads to my lower manifold - done the heads already, also removed the casting flash from the intake ports, and knife edged the divider. Going to work on the lower manifold this weekend. Did you take a look at your old gasket to see if there was anything visibly wrong with it between cylinder #2 and any of the nearby water galleries? Also, since your injector is above where the heads meet the lower manifold, I'm wondering if that would rule out that location ie the coolant can't fall "up"? Good luck anyways, hopefully you're not replacing another injector in the near future! sorry to burst your bubble, but it does. the front section ins like a bridge between both heads. The gasket was a bid humid in that section, between #2 and the passenger side water gallery, compared to the rest of the gaskets and that was my theory. the rubber seals were gone and toasted. tomorrow is the day, i let you know how all went... thank you for your input.
