RedEvilrps13
Alright, here's the deal.... My 78 Z has rotted floors and rotted framerails. The passenger side is absolutely atrocious compared to the driver's side, but point is they're both rotted pretty bad. Here's my dilemma. Now that I've got it running, I need to get it out of my workplace and to my parents' house to get started on the rot/rust repair, and I would like to register it (so I i don't have to keep relying on tow truck to move it) so I can drive it, but I do not want to risk tweaking the body. Your thoughts?
JSM
Are the seats safely secured? I have a hard time believing that you will do much more or any tweaking as long as you drive it lightly. The only difference in moving it under its own power vs. towing is the torque from the motor on the chassis. If anything, Id think tying it down for towing would but more stress on the body. Again, just drive it carefully.
RedEvilrps13
Ah ok then, thank you for the advice! I can't wait to actually drive in a road, seeing as I've just been driving it around the dealership parking lot....You should see the look i get from customers. EMWHYR0HEN
Youd be suprized how many people have the same problem and just ignore it. I sure did, for about 2 years exactly. If your going to be driving on decent roads and soft suspension I wouldnt worry about tweaking you chassis.
RedEvilrps13
^Yeah I'm going to try to take it easy, but I WANNA DRIVE IT!!!! I'm way too excited to have this car in some sort of running order.... Now if only the directionals worked....
